Women I’m Becoming was founded by longtime college friends Chanel Green and Kennie Wray, two women who discovered through life’s many trials that some things were never meant to be carried alone. Through seasons of pain, transitions, growth, heartbreak, uncertainty, healing, faith, financial struggles, wellness journeys, relationship challenges, and becoming who they were called to be, they realized something powerful: women need real community.
Even after moving away from one another, the friendship never stopped. The check ins never stopped either. No matter the distance, they continued showing up for one another through life’s highs and lows. Whether it was job transitions, silent struggles, body wellness journeys, emotional pain, relationship challenges, or simply trying to figure life out as young women, they remained committed to growing together against all odds.
Over time, they realized the same thing many women silently feel every day: there are too many spaces that expect women to have it all together. Too many places give the polished, “book ready” version of healing while ignoring the real, unspoken pain happening behind closed doors. As advisors, mentors, and women who have personally experienced life’s difficult seasons, Chanel and Kennie have seen firsthand how many young women are suffering silently while trying to appear strong to the world.
That is where Woman I’m Becoming was born.
What began as friendship, faith, accountability, and honest conversations became a mission placed on their hearts by God. They created Women I’m Becoming to be a safe, honest, and judgment free community where women can truly connect, grow, heal, and become better together. A place where hard conversations are welcomed. A place where women do not have to sugarcoat their struggles to be accepted. A place built on realness, love, accountability, encouragement, and growth.
Woman I’m Becoming is more than an organization. It is a sisterhood dedicated to helping women leave behind unhealthy habits, build better ones, strengthen their faith, prioritize wellness, travel together, attend workshops, have real conversations, and grow into the women they were always meant to be.
This is what a true community should look like.
